Water treatment - backflow prevention

Backflow prevention devices serve a crucial purpose in potable water networks, mitigating the risk of contamination by preventing water from flowing back into the clean water source. Properly installing and maintaining backflow preventers, as well as choosing the right device for the house or building, protects against contaminants such as chemicals, human waste, chlorine, household cleaning products, bacteria, and other health hazards, which could otherwise flow backward in the case of pressure loss in the main water supply. Regulations require backflow prevention in many cases. Virtual reality allows a variety of devices and components (industrial and individual level) to be presented, studied, and assembled in 3D, annotated with explanations and functioning principles.

Water treatment - circuits

How can water be made safe to drink? How to manage wastewater, filtering it into a usable resource and delivering it where needed? This module allows participants to play with complex largescale circuits, such as those for treating water for an entire city. Participants observe, analyze, diagnose, and solve problems. The experiential process transmits a 360° understanding of the mechanics of the system and the human issues involved.

Water treatment - water quality

Access to clean water is a global challenge even as advances in water filtration continue to be made. The functioning of clean water systems is only as reliable as the quality of monitoring and measurement, however. Our immersive, interactive water quality training module gives participants the opportunity to employ simple and complex water quality tests, with associated information on health and safety codes relevant to water quality. Explanations illuminate how to understand test results and their implications. Systems and methods for treating water are covered. A foundational education for water quality engineers, quality managers, and all personnel responsible for monitoring and ensuring water quality.
