Ventilation - technology

An understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of available technologies is essential to installing a well-functioning ventilation system. The traditional training challenge is a lack of appropriate equipment, leading to a lack of hands-on practical work. For training centers that do have the equipment, the costs of storage, maintenance, and acquisition of new material (replacing broken equipment and keeping up with industry standards) can quickly send the yearly budget spinning. Our training modules solve this with a range of virtual equipment that does not need to be stored and maintained, nor does it break. The only “maintenance” is updating to new models with the click of a button.

Ventilation - measuring devices

Ventilation performance comes from a full understanding of a system’s functioning and efficiency, and this understanding comes from precise measurements. Learn the tools and applications of ventilation measurement devices: air velocity meters (anemometers), airflow testing devices and machines, indoor air quality (IAQ) measurements, volume flow hoods, ductwork leakage testers, manometers, and more. Understand and practice using such tools with virtual models and real-scale buildings in virtual reality.

Ventilation - maintenance

Ventilation, while simple in principle, can involve complex applications, with high stakes: fire safety (preventing fires from spreading through ventilation systems), hygiene (preventing airborne contaminants), air cleanliness, spread of contamination. Indoor air pollution is a significant concern, with indoor air quality (IAQ) being affected by such contaminants as smoke, radon, mold, allergens, carbon monoxide, VOCs, and bacteria. Ventilation systems can either spread these or help prevent them. Proper installation, maintenance and cleaning are thus essential. Our virtual training presents the stakes of ventilation maintenance with real-world examples and a range of practical work and interactive scenarios, giving maintenance technicians, air quality engineers and building managers a memorable, crucial education.
