Regular maintenance of photovoltaic solar installations ensures reliable electricity generation and long-term cost effectiveness. This course leads technicians through essential interventions such as testing and verifying panels and cables, identifying and replacing damaged components, and cleaning solar panels with automatic cleaning systems. A trial and error approach challenges the participant to take initiative: independently diagnosing and solving losses of power, malfunctioning equipment, and other anomalies, all within the virtual world. Provide in-the-field experience with a utility-scale solar installation, without the usual costs of equipment and travel time, nor the need to interrupt functioning systems.

Photovoltaic solar - installation

This module teaches the primary concepts needed to install a photovoltaic system on a large scale: installing and uninstalling different components such as photovoltaic panels, inverters, charge controllers, cables, connectors, etc. The knowledge transmitted includes different wiring schemes and how to measure voltage, current, power and temperature throughout a solar field. Participants learn to stay safe, pay attention, and solve problems carefully and effectively. Virtual preparation encourages participants to learn from their mistakes in the training room – and thus be less likely to make costly mistakes when the risks are real.
